FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

How long will it take to fill my order?

I make each piece by hand, one at a time. I try to keep many of my designs in stock. But, given that each piece is available in a number of different inlays, this is not always possible. If you order something I already have made up I can usually ship the day after I receive your order. If I have to make your pieces from scratch it may take several weeks to fill your order. If you need a gift for a special occasion please order early. You can always call or email me in the studio to find out if an item is in stock.

How will you ship my order?

We ship by UPS or the US Postal Service.

How should I clean and polish my Victoria Varga pieces?

Victoria Varga jewelry is made of .925 sterling silver and high quality marine grade resin which is both light weight and incredibly durable. The silver is not coated with lacquer. Sterling silver will tarnish with use and age. Polish your Varga jewelry with a jeweler’s polishing cloth available at most jewelry stores. A clean jeweler’s cloth will not harm the resin inlay.

For best results place the polishing cloth on a flat surface (your kitchen counter is ideal). Polish all flat sides of your Varga jewelry by rubbing your jewelry with a firm back and forth motion. Polish the back and sides of your jewelry first. Polish the front side of your jewelry last. This will minimize fingerprints on the front of your jewelry. Your may find it helpful to stretch the polishing cloth between the fingers of one hand so that it does not bunch-up when you are polishing.

Use a liquid dip cleaner on chain, neck wires and any silver parts that you can not reach with a polishing cloth. We recommend Tarn-X. Apply liquid dip with a cotton swab. Do not submerge Varga Jewelry with inlays in liquid dip cleaners. After cleaning with a liquid dip, wash entire piece in mild soap and water. Rinse and pat dry with a soft, lint-free, cloth. Do not use your polishing cloth to dry wet jewelry.

My Victoria Varga jewelry needs to be repaired. What should I do?

My jewelry is handmade with the best materials available. With proper care your Varga jewelry will last for a very long time. But stuff happens! I stand behind everything I make. If something breaks because I goofed I will fix it and return it to you free of charge. If you drop your bracelet down your disposal while washing dishes or run over your earring with your car (I’ve seen both) I will try to fix it for you and return ship your item for a nominal charge. Please email or call me for an estimate. Finally, do not have your local jeweler try to fix your broken or damaged Varga Jewelry. I have developed a number of proprietary steps to make my unique line of jewelry and even a skilled jeweler can inadvertently ruin one of my pieces. Be sure to insure your package and ship it to my studio:

Oops! I lost one of my earrings. Can you make me a new mate?

Yes. As long as your earring is a design I am still making I can make you a replacement half earring. The price will be half the current retail price for a full pair. Because I make each piece of jewelry by hand it is important that you send me the surviving half so that I can carefully match what you have. I will also polish your old earring before I send it back to you. Please be sure to fully insure your item when shipping to the studio. Include your contact information – email and daytime phone number – so I know how to reach you. It usually takes one to three weeks to return ship your item. Send your item to:

I have this cool design. Can you make me a custom piece?

I am happy to make most pieces in my line in what ever color inlay you want. I can also substitute different motifs in multi unit pieces like bracelets or some of my necklaces. Necklaces and bracelets can be ordered in different lengths so that they fit you perfectly. I cannot, however, make you a custom design (family crest for example) unless you are willing to order a large number of pieces. The tooling I fabricate in order to make my precise cut outs in sheet silver is time consuming and expensive.

Is your studio open to the public?

I do not have a gallery. I am often on the road exhibiting at trade shows so I do not have an open studio. If you are planning to be in Maine and want to stop by please call ahead. Perhaps I can make some time and show you around.

Have another question?

Send me an email: info@victoriavarga.com. Or call me in the studio: (207) 781-4050 or (800) 418-2742. If I don’t answer please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can.

Thanks,
Victoria
